Selecting an MDM: An Evaluation Process

Hi, I am slicing up the complex MDM evaluation process into 3 phases. First Define the business problem, second Rapid Assessment and Initial Recommendation, third Scenario Based Evaluations. Today I will cover phase one.

Business Problem Definition:

Key objectives:

  • Define business problem.
  • Learn the primary need for an MDM system.
  • Gain concensus on high level MDM solution framework.
  • Gain executive and financial backing for MDM project

Activities:

  • Business, and IT interviews to learn pain points.
  • Workshops to detail business requirements.
  • Workshops to define on high level technology stack to meet requirements.

Deliverables:

  • Business problem definition.
  • Detailed use cases for MDM solution.
  • Direction on the high level technology solution.
